That’s crazyballs, they already know they are better than black people. OOPS! No, I’m only kidding. This is seriously crazy, though, because it shows that (unless the parents are liars and sitting at home cursing black people to the kids) there is so much implicit racial bias out there that kids are basically saturated in it. 24% of kids responded with racial bias. 24%! I think it could come down to how diverse the schools are, because my kids love and hate people of all colors equally. They go to a diverse school, so they know black people that are amazing and white people that are terrible and everything in between so they realize that color has nothing to do with character.
Seeing kids answer like in this video, though, makes me wonder if we will ever overcome our racial issues. Well, actually, they say everyone will have the same color skin in a few hundred years, so I guess someday it won’t matter anymore, but right now it’s really terrible that racial bias starts so early.
